Khruangbin and Leon Bridges Give us Their Texas Moon

Khruangbin & Leon Bridges present Texas Moon

This new format of writing music reviews is new. I’m kind of a fat kid, and my exercise of choice is to get on a treadmill and sweat it out. So to write reviews and get my exercise in I’m going to be writing them whilst working out. Then editing them later whilst drinking a beer.

Track 1: Doris (10/10)

This is a beautiful track. I’ve lost many people in my life, most recently the incredible Jontae Spinner. The lyrics in this song reverberate deep in my soul.

Track 2: B-Side (8/10)

That may not be a fair grade. For many people this might be a 10/10, maybe even 11/10. But it’s a little too comfortable for my taste. Everyone involved in this track has the talent to do so much more!

Track 3: Chocolate Hills (9/10)

I was going to give this song an 8, but it grew on me! This is a lovely little love ballad. I could get my wife pregnant with this song, shoot I might try tonight.

Track 4: Father Father (7/10)

Meh. Sometimes fathers are shitty. I know mine is. For me music is an escape from the things that have hurt me. My father being potentially the most painful example. I’m not feeling this track.

Track 5: Mariella (10/10)

This is a lovely song with a much needed Khruangbin jam-out. You just need to hear it for yourself because my descriptions won’t give the song justice. Check it out!
